News Snatch: Stupid Zombies, Trouserless Hippos And Loony Lords

First up, a pink hippo explains why despite wearing a shirt and shoes, he does not wear any trousers.

The other day I was pondering what had happened to the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines so we asked Sega and they have given us an official answer.

They said “No comment”.

The existing console versions of the game have been patched to fix numerous bugs and glitches but sadly there is not a patch for the crushing sense of disappointment that prevailed when everyone realised Gearbox had wasted the license.

Anyone still interested what is in the Curiosity Cube?

Back to the Wii U, Criterion have said they will only release DLC for Need For Speed: Most Wanted if the game proves to be a hit. Criterion’s Alex Ward tweeted “Support the game. If the sales are there it makes sense to do the DLC. Simple as that.”

“If each of you purchase just five digital copies of BioShock Infinite, I will be able to buy a boat,” tweets the ever hopeful Ross McGrath, Digital Sales Manager for Take Two.

Tell you what Ross, make the digital version a sensible price and make it cheaper than the version in the shops and you may have a deal.

Sega Japan have launched a teaser website for something and whatever it is, it’s exclusive to PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Expect a full reveal on 28th March.

Richard “Lord British” Garriott is a bit a gimp and up to now we have ignored his recent outburst in which he said “I’ve met virtually no one in our industry who I think is close to as good a game designer as I am” and “What I’m saying is, I think most game designers really just suck.”

Hey, guess what, he’s had a sudden change of heart! In the Gamasutra comments section he has now said “I was not trying to toot my own horn.”

I’m not convinced Richard, “I’ve met virtually no one in our industry who I think is close to as good a game designer as I am,” does sound rather tooty to me.

And Finally, a video showing the delights of the recently released The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Now I know zombies are meant to be stupid but they can usually work out they need to crouch to get under a door.

Major kudos to the development to team for the obvious nod towards the Resident Evil movies which have a cloning story arc.

That is the reason why the same three zombies keep appearing, right?

  1. Hahahah the Walking dead video is amazing. Love around the 3 minute mark. Just keep jumping over the fence back and forward.

Does look pretty poor, no surprise there really.

    • At least I’m not the only one who expected the game to be rubbish.

  2. Well I bought the Steam digital version of Bioshock Infinite and thought it was a good price, especially as I wanted XCOM too. PSN version is a rip off for sure though.

Walking Dead game is hilarious. Shame as it could have been really good by the looks of some elements of the game.

  3. You forgot the Nuns with Guns.

  4. I don’t get why Activision don’t just scrap The Walking Dead game now. It looks terrible and without serious delays and improvements, it probably won’t be a commercial sucess.

  5. Anyone still interested what is in the Curiosity Cube?

Yes please! Update on how things have gone if you have a moment.

    • Seconded. I’d love to know whta’s going on with it. Especially if you can seek Molyneux out and put him on the spot a little bit about his most egregious use of hyperbole to date. I expect you’ll get an even louder ‘no comment’ than Sega managed for Aliens: CM.
