Not too much to say on this one, but over at Microsoft’s E3 2013 press briefing, the company have confirmed that Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome will be a launch title for the upcoming Xbox One.
The game was initially announced at E3 2011 as a Kinect-only title, but much has changed since then – it seems like a much more God of War-esque hack and slash title which can be played with the controller.
There was also a QTE-filled gameplay demo with some nice formation battling up on-stage, which you can now view below.

Looks really good, seems like he has been spending too much time hanging out with Kratos. Shame its an exclusive, would like to have played it

I believe it’ll be on PS4 too judging from the icon in the corner

Precisely what I was thinking GoW rip off but it does look good.

Visually it looked amazing, but having every kill a slo-mo QTE completely ruined it. In the words of Totalbiscuit: “Press X to Roman”

Looks good, the only game so far that I would have wanted to play on the PS4.

So the former “hardcore game for Kinect” poster child is now a controller-only game (even with the improved Kinect 2 in every XB1)?
Oh, and that’s one or two E3 Bingo points for me :)

Hate kinect but wanted at least one title to live up to the promise of being a good kinect game – oh well

Looks pretty good, I think I like the idea more than the execution though – too many silly moves and QTE’s. The tactics should be the focus.
