This November mobile gaming giant, Gameloft, will release a movie tie-in based on the upcoming Marvel film, Thor: The Dark World.
Featuring a story co-written by Marvel’s Christopher Yost, players will lead the God of thunder and his Asgardian allies through “over 100” levels.
The Dark World is a top-down action game that appears to ape Gameloft’s popular RPG franchise, Dungeon Hunter. The publisher confirmed that the title will be free-to-play and uses a new HD engine across all platforms.
The game is currently planned for iOS and Android only.

‘And lo, did not terrible licensed games withdraw their plague from the true consoles, and lay waste to the Sodom that is mobile gaming.’

I was thinking exactly the same thing!

To be fair, Dungeon Hunter was utterly terrible. Hell, I wouldn’t even give that to smart phone users. Still… a good RPG would be lovely fun but I can’t help think that a tethered console (PS3, etc) is the way forward for such a genre but obviously they want to try to cash in on the mobile scene. Good luck to them.
