Minecraft Confirmed For PlayStation 4

Mojang’s insanely popular indie title, Minecraft, will finally make its way to PlayStation. A few skulking Creepers accompanied the split-second announcement. The game is currently available on Xbox 360 and PC.

There’s no word on a Vita port though the PlayStation 4 version may well support remote play.

  1. Oh dear me, now my son’s going to be hogging the PS4 all day, every day.

As it’s next gen I wonder whether they’ll upgrade the rather blocky graphics? [joke]

  2. Ah, I’m genuinely super excited by this! Hope a Vita version is announced down the line too, but this is great news as it is!

  3. Vita and PS3 as well according to Notch on Twitter.

    • Vita is where Minecraft will really shine, I hope that’s true!

  4. Meh, never seen the appeal really. It’s a 1970’s Little Big Planet really.

    • That’s Mario isn’t it?

      • No the construction element.

I don’t get the appeal. I also find it interesting that nobody spotted Microsoft’s lies about exclusivity from yesterday….

  5. Should we read anything into the logo reveal NOT containing a subtitle (like Xbox 360 Edition, Pocket Edition etc)?
Could this mean the full Minecraft experience on Sony machines?

  6. That’s everything i wanted from the Xbox one roster, well that and Peggle 2.

  7. All ps4 games support remote play, as you should well know.

The only games excluded are those that need the ps4 camera.

  8. Checked a couple of other sites and they’re reporting that Minecraft will be available on PS4 on launch day. Super.
