Rockstar’s Fake GTA V Social Network Is Brilliant

With GTA V releasing in about four days time, Rockstar have really began to advertise the game. Along with the usual TV adverts, posters and tidbits of information, they’re doing some pretty smart things with their marketing.

This includes a brilliant made-up social network, dubbed Lifeinvader, which offers profiles direct from Los Santos, with plenty of companies, citizens and much more having pages on the site.

Amusingly, you can sign in with your Rockstar Social Club profile and then click “Stalk” rather than “Follow” on each page, and there are a lot of profiles on the website, with a new one popping up every time that you click on the logo at the top left.

There’s a lot of hilarity to be found – the Sprunk page in particular is my favourite. I’m stalking them, and I’ve stalked their post to get my free can of Sprunk… if only it were real. Though at 800 calories, I might not make it to the bottom of the can.

You’ll also see some more subtle information about the game itself, including new screenshots and, naturally, information about some of the brands and characters you’ll come across.

Let us know which profiles you’ve found in the comments below!

  1. “Nothing beats a belly full of bubbly Sprunk.”

    Ha. :-)

  2. Four days?!

  3. You can stalk pages to get discounts in the actual game. I’ve got a first tattoo and first haircut for free, and I’ll get 10% off my first plane purchase (as it’s linked to your social club account, thus linked to your PSN).

    That’s pretty cool.

    • That’s very cool! I’m loving these social extras, the more dystopian GTA humour the better.

  4. Pretty much everything on there gives you either a discount or a first time free offer. Its actually pretty funny, nice to see Rockstar giving away a few freebies before launch.

  5. I love to sprunk with my wife in the morning. It’s totes amazeballs

  6. Stalk us here on LifeInvader for the chance to get Sprunked on.
Classic GTA stuff, the radio stations should be hilarious especially the listener phone-ins from worried parents where little Jonny keeps sprunking over his sister and the cat :P

  7. The InkInc tattoo parlor amused me.

“We have a wide range of winged serpents, skulls, dragons and other spiritually meaningful symbols to express who you really are. Get something on your back done so your lover has something to look at.”

  8. Do you know what, I would love to know what an 800 calorie can of Sprunk tastes like… 0.o :P

I’ve been through and stalked all the pages with freebies. :D

  9. Very clever marketing.

  10. So a mix of itcrowd’s friendface and idiocracy’s Brawndo (or futurama’s slurm).

    Aren’t there jokes ancient?

    • As ancient as the Inca’s, but it’s the tongue in cheek way that the funnies are delivered and of course the games environment that’ll make them current. ;)
