There will be a third Battlefield Bad Company game eventually, at least that’s what DICE Creative Director Lars Gustavsson believes. Speaking at a recent Battlefield 4 promotional event, Gustavsson told reporters he “would love to” make a third Bad Company title.
“For me, when we started the company with 1942, it was really a work of passion,” he said.
“And then we worked our way through the era of different wars, and I loved them all, like my little babies. When it came to Bad Company, it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously.”
“So I love it. I want to see it again. Whether it can happen now with the newly announced Mirrors Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront… but we’ll see,” Gustavsson continued, “Trust me… the Bad Company [squad] isn’t forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation. So they are out there, they’re coming back.”
The Battlefield Bad Company series is renowned not only for its solid gameplay mechanics, but also for the characters and their humorous take on the traditional FPS story. A third installment is unlikely to be headed up by the same writing team however, with David Goldfarb – BFBC2’s Lead Writer – now employed at Overkill.
Battlefield 4 is released on Windows PC, PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 November 1st, with PS4 and Xbox One launches expected November 15th & November 22nd respectively. An open Beta for the title launches later today on Origin, PSN and Xbox Live.

I don’t know why or what it is, but for me, BFBC2 online kicks arse compared to BF3. Thats why I can’t get excited about BF4, but BFBC3 on the other hand needs to be made NOW! That & Rainbow Six… In fact, anyone heard anymore about Rainbow Six? It was mentioned a while back around when the PS4 was revealed but haven’t heard anything since.

BFBC2 was brilliant compared to BF3. The problem is it wont be the same even if they did make another one. I’m finding the BF4 beta excellent so far, but I’m on PS3 and not PC.

Absolutely! But it has to be BC3, not BF5 by another name, with no rent a sever crap and a return of full destruction!
Funnily enough I was looking into R6:Patriots yesterday as like you say it’d gone quiet. Apparently it is still being worked on, but sounds like its being updated to next-gen. No news is good news I guess… if it had been canned someone would’ve said something.

I also played Red Orchestra, Wolf:ET, Counter-Strike etc. but BC2 was the best competitive multiplayer FPS game(thanks to Destruction 2.0 and great map layouts) i’ve ever experienced.
