Videos have landed on the web showing the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4, confirming that the PS4 version does indeed run at a resolution of 1600×900, while the Xbox One version is just 1280×720. Digital Foundry confirm that’s a fifty percent increase in pixels overall, which is quite huge.
It’s clear that the PS4 version is better here, though they’re reporting that the software-based upscaling to 1080p leaves the PS4 version with a less crisp looking game, though one with better anti-aliasing
The video below, again from Digital Foundry, shows the difference between the versions. It’s not huge from what we’ve seen, but the Xbox One version takes hits in the form of resolution and framerate.
If that video isn’t the comparison you need, then you can take a look at two separate videos from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the games, posted by Jackfrags.
Still, it’s quite a good looking game on both consoles, isn’t it? Just a tad better on the PS4.

I’m impressed with both when we think about price but it’s also a little nasty on the eye when you see the XO trying to retain the detail by using the Edge Enhancement filter which gives it that sharper look. However, just like wanging up the Softness setting on a TV so it’s right over in the “Sharper” camp, it looks unnatural and very forced at times.
For me, what was most surprising was the omission of a couple of effects where the XO simply didn’t have them. For example, a couple of bursts of fire (explosion and debris flying) that didn’t even happen. However, just like last gen, both will look lovely when it comes down to it. Just such a shame for the more hardware-hungry folk to see the PS4 outdoing the XO with 50% more pixels being rendered too.
Fascinating stuff.

Dice confirmed on twitter than Xbox wasn’t final build there are fixes coming including Ambient Occlusion before release or day one patch so Videos are a bit pointless at moment.

Isn’t Ambient Occlusion gonna impact on their frame rate even more…?
These videos don’t really show a massive difference in image quality, but they do show the PS4 pushing more pixels without really struggling. To put it another way, the XB1 is struggling to push half the pixels of the PS4…
It’s also interesting that DF didn’t show the multiplayer on the XB1… That’s where it’s having trouble.

I was thinking the same, if it has AO too then frame rate will surely have an impact again?

They both look good, sure there are differences but those kind of differences never mattered much to me when i was playing the supposedly inferior PS3 versions of some multiplatform games.
