SCEA Acquires TakeTheOath.com Domain

It’s always good to keep an eye on who registers or buys which domains, and Sony Computer Entertainment America’s latest acquisition – TakeTheOath.com – is interesting, and perhaps something they’ll be using in conjunction with the PS4.

Buying the domain could’ve cost them around $3000, as it was spotted on Buydomains at $2988 earlier in the month, before it switched hands to Sony.

There’s no indication of what they’ll use the website for, but it’s going to have to be some sort of viral marketing thing, right? It might tie in with the PS4’s launch, but what could be more likely is that it has something to do with PS4 exclusive The Order 1886.

Or perhaps it’s something that’s yet to be announced?

  1. I’d guess it’s The Order given the similar links between the domain and title.

Hope it’s not though so we get another game to look forward to. I love the run up to a new generation launch.

  2. In some ways, I hope it’s not linked to The Order 1886. When I think of oaths and orders, I automatically think of the Assassin’s Creed games, and the oath/creed they say to join the Assassin’s Order.
