If you played GTA Online in the month of October, and were therefore likely affected by some of the online launch issues that they had, then you can expect 500k in GTA$ to be deposited in your in-game bank account very soon.
Why? Well, if you’ve not been following, Rockstar Games are offering the payment as a goodwill gesture to thank players for putting up with the issues, rather than just fixing them and leaving it at that.
They’re expecting the deposit to take up to two full days to be delivered into the accounts of the entire player base, so if you haven’t got it quite yet, then you should see it before the weekend, so you can have a wild party and spend all of your cash on Saturday and recover with a booming in-game hangover on Sunday.
Rockstar thank everyone for being so patient and understanding with all of these issues, and will have more on the release of the free additional content soon, namely the Beach Bum pack and Social Club events functionality.

I got 500k paid into my account yesterday. I wish I realised you get a garage with most apartments as I bought a garage first when I didn’t need to – Nice waste of 100k. I decided to vent my anger on peoples cars with a baseball bat.

Got mine yesterday too! Purchased the 10-car garage for $150K, and then filled it up with stolen $9K SUVs to sell and get the money back. Also treated myself to a new Audi R8 (“9F”), thanks Rockstar ;)
Will probably end up buying the rather modified Bentley Continental GT and an apartment – can anyone recommend a good one?

I bought a Porsche as it was only 100k, then installed the biggest tail thing there is and some bullet proof tyres. Now I need to win some races so I can install a turbo. I just need more acceleration, I’m not interesting in the Highest speed vehicles as it’ll mean I’ll just crash more.

I would advise one of the 10 car penthouse apartments, as they are supposed to be where you can plan heists from once that is activated. Plus all the other bonuses from an apartment such as the TV, wardrobe, shower to wash off blood (really!) etc.
They are all near enough identical inside (apart from some minor artwork differences and different views). If you are bothered by views jump on YouTube and check out some of the comparison videos, I bought the 253k apartment that overlooks the golf course and beach as it seemed a good compromise between price and location. Functionally it is the same as the 400k apartment however, and I didn’t feel a view of the hills justified an extra 150k.
Or just spend it all on whores. I can’t think when that isn’t a good idea.

And make sure you grab the free elegy super car from the car website (it’s a bonus for joining the rockstar club thingy). You can also grab a free sawn off shotgun from an ammunation if you haven’t already.

Got mine too. I had just enough for an Entity, so when It dropped I bought the Entity and fully upgraded it. No Crew logo though. It only goes on the driver side door on that car, and it just doesn’t look right. Sad Face.
Enough left for a Rapid GT convertible too. Which is nice.

My mate and I had ours yesterday too. Purchased a 10-garage apartment for 237,000, I think, then sprunked the rest on a Feltzer. Modded it a bit and then gave it the funny horn sound. That always sounds awesome when flying past people. :-)

I bought the 205k apartment(before the free money). Looks exactly like the most expensive one but doesnt have the great views and also has a ten car garage. Well worth the money.
I got the 500k last night as most of my friends playing it yesterday, just left it sat there and added too it doing lots of missions with quite a few off here. Good times.

Mine arrived in full yesterday too.
Spent 126k GTA$ on an apartment with a 6 car garage (more than enough for me!) and a fast car (Pagassi Vacca, I think), which I’ve upgraded as much as allowed – also need to win a few more races before more can be done. Shame the PSN is down tonight as it would be perfect for a few custom races!

Got mine yesterday and went flat hunting! It was way less stressful than actually buying a real flat, got a great place with a 6 car garage in a great location just minutes from the beach for just over 130K. I’ve yet to splash out on a car, I might wait until I’ve unlocked some more upgrades, I did get a bmx though!

Got mine last night and bought the 400k apartment with 10 car garage. I even got 102k off the price as I traded in my old apartment towards it. I was left with just enough to buy the Vacca to add to my growing collection….Comet, Feltzer, Coquette, Rapid GT and a few others.

I bought an apartment next to a roof top skatepark in the hollywood area. Would be Vine St or round there in real life. Finding it all a bit confusing though tbh. Not really sure what I’m doing.

There is so much to do that everyone probably plays it differently. A lot of people seem to just cruise around causing havoc.
Personally, I like to join any missions, races etc that people post, and stay in lobbies with people for as long as possible rather than wandering around aimlessly.
Your only real goal is to level up and earn money, aside from enjoying all the moments of random chaos!

Haha sorry! It took me a while to figure out the blue outlines meant crew members, I imagine I have accidentally shot a few TSA members whose names I didn’t recognise before the penny dropped!
Normally now I tend to ignore people unless they show signs of chasing me in their cars or fire at me. I was wandering around with someone last night in a peaceful truce after doing some missions with them.
I almost felt a pang of guilt shooting them when I noticed they had a bounty placed on them!
