Fallout 4 Information Leaked

Kotaku has just published a story claiming to have information regarding Fallout 4, including its location, some character details and a casting call script. The big news, if this is true, is that Fallout 4 will be set in the ruins of Boston with the wider Massachusetts state making up a region known as The Commonwealth.

Fallout4

The above page is apparently the opening scene of the casting call script, and it refers to a new war about to break out, with the classic line “War, war never changes,” heading it.

Who that war is between is unclear though The Commonwealth is likely to be one side. Could be the Brotherhood of Steel has got stronger or another power in the east has grown. Or it may the beginning of a situation mimicking the American War of Independence, considering Boston was where it really kicked off.

Apparently the documents refer the player starts the game in a cryogenic chamber, meaning they were possibly alive during the Great War which saw nukes exchanged leading to fallout, so it’s likely they were a soldier during that time.

According to Kotaku there are references to other locations such as The Institute, and other characters are named including Preston Garvey, engineer Sturges, and DJ David Miles. Bethesda are declining to comment on the validity of the documents at the moment.

  1. I can’t wait, despite its bugs fallout 3 is one of my favourite games :-)

    • Yeah, same here mate. the story was fantastic and it was such an epic adventure. Travelling the metro is still one of my biggest gaming pet hates though!

      • Worse than the sewers in Dead Island?

I did not enjoy the frame-rate, the Metro, Moira Brown or the save file size. Other than that it was a pretty awesome game. Would be nice if they scaled it down a bit and gave a greater level of details, perhaps like the details, textures and fluidity of Rage.

  2. So the troll who faked the first Fallout 4 site succeeded in his dream of making them admit the game is in development.

    • I was thinking the same. Let’s fake the Elder Scrolls 6 and see what happens…

    • I was going to make a similar comment. But this is still great news.

All aboard the hype train! WooWoo! :P

  3. Fallout 2 is still my all time favourite, hoping that this can take the crown. Can’t be worse that New Vegas though

    • I loved New Vegas cowboy styling but the activities and quests weren’t the best.

  4. one thing i think is interesting about that.

it implies the player character will actually speak this time.

that would be a first wouldn’t it?
i don’t recall that in any of the previous Fallout games, or any of the Elder Scrolls games.

anyway, i loved the Fallout games, so a new one will be more than welcome.

    • Yeah, they made you feel like the mute guy running around with a little chalk board hanging around his neck. It’s just so yesteryear it reminded me of some of the old King’s Quest/Police Quest series.

  5. But this sounds way too similar to the info ‘leaked’ on the survivor 2299 site, which was later debunked?

Either the people who created that actually did know things about the game or this is false too, anyone have any further ideas?

Whichever it is, it definitely sounds like a promising start :)

  6. Loved both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, more of the same with less bugs please.

  7. Looks fake to me.

  8. “The above page is apparently the opening scene of the casting call script, and it refers to a new war about to break out, with the classic line “War, war never changes,” heading it.”

I think the war hinted at in the prologue/script isn’t a “new war” the player awakens to, but The Great War. The Great war happens near the end of the 21st century. The player talks about the downfall of society at the beginning of the 21st century and the looming war ahead. That would make that war, The Great War and not a “new war” involving any post fallout factions.

  9. I honestly hope these claims are true! Personally, I believe the fallout franchise really captures the idea of american idealism for the american dream, present mainly in the 40s and 50s in which a lot of the games in game items are based around, while still maintaining humorous aspects that make the game as entertaining as it is. On the release of another addition to the fallout family, I’d hope for more incredible artistic aspects in the wastelands.
