Nintendo have announced a spin-off of both The Legend of Zelda and Tecmo KOEI’s Warriors franchises, which takes the gameplay of games such as Dynasty Warriors and introduces characters and foes from the Zelda universe.
The trailer, which you can see embedded above, has Link fighting hordes of enemies from previous games, including bosses, with an impressive array of enemies on screen across fields of Hyrule.
This is developed by Tecmo KOEI, and Nintendo stress that this is not the highly anticipated Wii U entry into the franchise, which will take a more familiar form. Hyrule Warriors is also currently a working title.
While The Legend of Zelda should never be completely combat focused in my opinion, this spin-off does look like a good bit of fun and a different direction for the series.

YES. I love the art direction, hopefully this is what they’re aiming for with Zelda Wii U.
