Grand Theft Auto Online has been updated with a new team-based mode, in the form of Capture. It’s part of an automatic update for PS3 and Xbox 360 – which is now available – and means that you’ll be able to play 20 new Jobs over four variations of the mode.

Raid is standard Capture the Flag, where you must head to your opponents’ base and steal a package, before delivering this package back to your own base to collect points. It’s all about reaching the target score, or simply delivering more packages than the opposing team, to win the game.
Quite interestingly, variations of that mode pit four factions against each other on Vespucci Beach, while in Fort Zancudo you’re able to use military jets and other vehicles to your advantage.
Hold is, naturally, all about collecting and storing as many of these packages in your base as possible. As well as stealing these from foes’ bases, the packages can be found dotted around the map.
GTA mode has teams stealing vehicles, including buses. These will be targets around the map, and teams will have to bring these back to their bases to win. This mode sounds like a lot of frantic fun, particularly with one variation which involves stealing a Fieldmaster due to a tractor shortage in Grapeseed.
Finally, there’s Contend, which includes only one package in the centre of the map, with teams dodging bullets to bring it back to their bases, before it respawns in the middle and it’s time to go again.
These all sound really fun, and would perhaps get more of my attention if I didn’t have the PS4 right now. What do you think, are these new modes a reason to turn your last generation console back on for a bit?

I nearly crapped myself with excitement, then. I thought this was about “capturing” the last 30 seconds of your playtime so you could upload it. DAMMIT! :-(

If it was, that would of been one smelly last 30 secs!

Ah, but the Germans would’ve loved it. Paid for it! *purchases glass coffee table and positions self*

Thats uncanny! :) Now it all makes sense as oddly enough my Mum’s German and she’s come to visit for the run up to Xmas & all she keeps doing is moaning at me to polish my glass coffee table. l
I normally avoid polish as the chemicals may interact with various other chemicals :/ but now I’m bleaching the b&stard! lol

This would be fun, but as with freemode, the Respawn points are annoying . i was getting killed almost every time i got back in the game by 1 guy who was just camping on our base.
