Titanfall Beta Confirmed To Drop Next Month For XBO & PC

It’s certainly been on the cards for a while now, with yesterday’s leak only building the rumours of a Titanfall beta test happening some time before launch.

Vince Zampella took to twitter last night to confirm the beta for Xbox One and PC. While the leak stated February 14th as the start point for the beta – making Valentine’s Day the busiest multimedia day of the year so far – he didn’t give a date.

Xbox 360 owners are left out of the early fun and won’t be seeing a beta test despite being set to get the game itself. This is quite likely down to the fact that this version is not being developed in-house at Respawn, which would make coordinating a beta all the more difficult. Zampella also revealed who that external developer is:

Bluepoint are perhaps best known for their work with Sony, where they were handed the duties for the HD remastering of several PS2 games, including God of War Collection and The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, and most recently the PS4 and PS Vita ports of Flower. They’re certainly well versed in this kind of work but it will be interesting to see how they are able to translate Titanfall back to the 360.

  1. Good news. Seems like the reason to own an X1 at the moment so I definitely want to check it out. My only concern is that big old “EA” badge on the box art – practically guarantees the game will be an unplayable mess for the first couple of months.

    • I don’t think it will be quiet the same, Respawn have been working on this since roughly 2010 when they were created, and wouldn’t have had the strict deadlines EA have given DICE on chucking out a Battlefield just to compete with COD.

Either way, I hope to get in the PC beta!

      • This is true, hadn’t really thought of it like that. My X1 is collecting dust a bit at the moment so I’m really hoping Titanfall gives me an excuse to pick up the controller again.

  2. /freeze self till March
