One Piece Unlimited World Red Sailing Towards PS3, Vita, Wii U & 3DS

Namco Bandai has just announced a new One Piece game called One Piece Unlimited World Red, and it will be releasing on PS3, Vita, Wii U and 3DS this year. The game itself is being developed by Ganbarion Games who have developed various One Piece games, as well as Pandora’s Tower for the Wii. While a previous game in the series, One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP, didn’t score so well in our review it appears Namco has some faith in this latest adaptation.  Hiroaki Ochiai, Senior Vice President of IP Strategy at Namco Bandai said:

Thanks to their [Ganbarion] expertise, we are sure to have an amazing game where all the details from the One Piece universe will be perfectly pictured. On top of that, we are really proud and happy to have a never-before-seen scenario for this game!”

The game itself will feature the main crew from the manga, and will also allow for co-op play. The handheld versions state that up to four players can play together, while the console versions of the game will have two player local multiplayer. The story itself will feature bosses like Crocodile and Caesar Clown, which is a great villain name. It’ll be an action RPG so if you’re a fan of both you might want to keep an eye out for the game.
