Sony seem to be announcing an new Indie game every day at the moment and Zen Studios’ CastleStorm – Definitive Edition is the latest title.
The game is described as a “hilarious mix of medieval warfare, 2D physics-based destruction, tower defence and some melee brawler action thrown in! It also features a story-driven solo campaign, a custom castle editor, online multiplayer, co-op modes, and more.”
The Definitive Edition includes the entire original campaign and expansions, plus a bunch of new content including new battles, modes, spells and features, all running 60 FPS @ 1080p.
Joining the party is KickBeat – Special Edition, a rhythm game with added kung-fu. “We are adding a bunch of new features, additional soundtracks and other enhancements are being added to the original campaign,” explained Zen Studios Bobby Loertscher.
Next up is Hyper Light Drifter, an atmospheric combat game. “Our goal to make an experience that’s visually and atmospherically compelling, has a well-crafted story and is a hell of a lot of fun to play remains a challenge each day, but it’s incredibly rewarding,” said Alex Preston from developers Head of Heart Machine.
Hyper Light Drifter will also be coming to PS Vita, as will our final indie title…
Home, the “welcome surprise to horror game lovers when it launched on PC in 2012” and not the Sony virtual playground.
“Part of Home’s charm is that it’s entirely dependent on the player; it isn’t a march towards Ending A or Ending B – it’s the journey itself that is affected, as all your little choices subtly change how your character perceives the world around him. It’s a game that people love playing and then discussing afterward to compare notes and theories,” said Benjamin Rivers, Director of the cunningly named Benjamin Rivers Inc.

Hyper Light Drifter and CastleStorm for me – would be great to see at least one of them as a PS+ game.

Regarding Home- don’t go in expecting Lone Survivor, or anything like it. It’s nothing like that at all, though the artstyle might suggest otherwise.
