News items about the Wii U are few and far between these days so it gives me great pleasure to tell you that at least 67 new games will be coming to the console, 17 of these will be released in the next two months.
This is because last year Nintendo announced a partnership with Unity Technologies that would bring a Wii U-specific version of game creation engine Unity to all developers who have a Wii U development kit.
Senior Manager of Marketing at Nintendo’s of America’s Licensing department, Damon Baker, spoke to Silicon Era at GDC and said, “Over the course of this show, we have nine games on display. We have 17 that are currently in the pipeline, that have been submitted. So they will all be out within the next two months.”
“And then, we have another fifty that are waiting in the wings, that are coming; so we’ve got a lot of Unity content on the way,” he added.
I suspect a high proportion of these games can be found on other platforms but you never know, there may be an exclusive game or two. One game that is confirmed is Hover: Revolt of Gamers, a futuristic open world parkour game which looks like a spiritual sequel to Jet Set Radio.

Don’t fret, Hover will also be hitting other formats, including PS4 and Xbox One, at some point. There is also talk of VR support which could be awesome or could make you very sick.

I’ve been following news on Nintendo, and it feels like a new indie is announced for either 3DS or Wii U every day. Starting to think Nintendo might take the indie throne from Playstation.
If only third-party support was as lively…

I posted about Unity July of last year http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=58768 and it was already old news at that point.
It would have been more interesting reading about that, when it was new, rather than all the NintenDoom.

Now, I agree this is old news (but TSA is Playstation oriented and can’t prioritise Nintendo news at all times), but please stop advertising for yourself.
These 67 titles are likely Unity based, unlike the other half of those 120 you mention.

Hover looks greatfor a Unity game. I’m also learning Unity and for my 3D environment college project I’m creating a Game of Thrones environment. Just as a disclaimer this environment can be loosely based on Game of Thrones just so you know.
