PlayStation Turkey’s VP Lets Slip About The Last Of Us On PS4

“Will we see a The Last of Us sequel soon?” asked the CNN Turk TV presenter as he interviewed Sercan Sulun, PlayStation Turkey’s VP, on local TV. A seemingly innocuous question, and one which you would ordinarily expect to get a total non-answer to, but Sercan gave a slightly more surprising answer.

“No, a sequel is not coming right now as far as I know,” he replied “but I can say that the first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy, with enchanced graphics.”

The news reaches our shores by way of translation by NeoGAF user Quirah, confirmed by a second user, as he noted the plainly stated revelation during the 36th minute of the broadcast which, just in case you can speak Turkish, can be found on multiplayer.com.tr.

I’m sure that fingers are now being firmly crossed that Sercan did not get his facts wrong and that we will in fact get an even prettier version  of TLOU to enjoy this summer. Keep them crossed overnight, and we’ll ask Sony in the morning for some further details.

Until then, sleep tight and mind the clickers don’t bite.

UPDATE: “At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject,” a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe spokesperson told Eurogamer.

  1. I’m still holding out for the PS3 GOTY release…

  2. Bought this digitally on PS3 and never really got into it. Found the fighting sequences really repetitive. Hopefully SONY will reward my original purchase with a nice discount on this for PS4 so I can try again.

  3. I think i’ll stick with my PS3 version, i haven’t had a second playthrough of it yet and also it’s one of the standout games which makes my PS3 worth hanging onto.

  4. I’m glad I waited now.

  5. Quite simply the best gaming experience ever…PS4…yes please…I’ll do it all again.

My only gripe was Survivor mode as easier because the enemies were not in random spots…I knew what to do after my playthroughs on Normal and Hard…

  6. This is great news if true.
I didn’t buy this last-gen as my launch day phat PS3 fan had got so noisy and I didn’t want it to spoil my enjoyment of this game.
I’ve been holding out for a PS4 announcement since, avoiding all spoilers has been tough going, but not long now!

  7. I’m currently playing through this on PS3 as part of my backlog so I doubt I’d buy it again on PS4. However if it was released through Plus for free then it would be a different matter.
