The Last Of Us Grounded DLC Bundle Will Have Both Single & Multiplayer Content

TLOUGrounded

Naughty Dog has announced the final content drop for The Last Of Us, and it contains a new difficulty level as well as the Reclaimed Territories map pack, survival skills, and weapon bundles. One of the biggest parts of the Grounded bundle is the difficulty level of the same name that will be included, which has unforgiving enemy AI and survival will be incredibly difficult. That’s a fine addition for the Season Pass, but if you don’t have that then you have to pay $4.99. Yes, difficulty levels are now considered DLC, which to me is an odd decision.

On the multiplayer side of things players will be able to get the Reclaimed Maps pack, which will has fours maps including Wharf, Capitol, Coal Mine, and Water Tower. The cost for non season pass holders in $9.99. There is also the Survivalist Weapon Bundle, containing four new guns such as Specter, Double Barrel, Enforcer, and Launcher. Non season pass holder cost is $5.99. Finally two survival skills will be available, dubbed Situational and Professional, costing $3.99 each. Everyone, including those without the season pass will get a free gun called the Full Auto rifle.

If you do want the season pass it currently costs £15.99. The PS4 Remastered edition will have the Reclaimed Territories Map Pack, but nothing else from this bundle has been confirmed for it.

  1. Naughty Dog turning to the dark side with TLoU. £4.99 for a new difficulty level, rubbish overpriced map packs and hat pack dlc’s, ridiculously time-consuming online trophies, denying the existence of a ps4 release for months when it turns out they started working on it as soon as they finished the ps3 version. Thought ND were better than this. Uncharted 4 will probably have micro transactions.

    • When you put it like that, it does sound bad. Where the season pass is concerned, it’s all great value, but even that will be gone by the middle of May and everyone will have the pay the individual price.

The new difficulty level is a bit naff, especially charging for it. As for the map packs though, they seem pretty good as I enjoy TLoU multiplayer. Granted it’s all overpriced, but then most DLC has been like that for while.

  2. I just hope they don’t fuck the DLC up by adding shitty trophies in an attempt to get people to play it. (If it’s good people will play it anyway). I’m worried they add 49% more trophies (all online) like they did retrospectively with Uncharted 3, which will be far too late in the day for PS3 version, particularly since your online progress won’t be carried over to the PS4 version (which seems odd when Call of Duty and Final Fantasy are doing it). Or worse still, add more trophies for the single player difficulty – after I’ve already played the game through 3 times to get the platinum. Another playthrough may make me resent it!

  3. A new difficulty level doesn’t sound like new sp content to me, it’s just a tweak for existing content. Anyway, great game and i enjoyed the Left Behind dlc but i’m glad i didn’t pay for the season pass.

    • With you on this one. New difficulty levels must never be classed as new content. That’s just a patch update, surely.

    • Yep. I’ve been toying around with the idea of purchasing this again for the PS4 due to lack of games, but decided not to as I’ve already been through it a couple of times… Then, I read the Single Player Content bit and thought there might be another bit of the story to play along with the Left Behind content which would of tempted me again only to discover it’s another difficulty level.
I’ll probably be playing Watch_Dogs by then anyway. I wasn’t gonna bother buying it but the topless/nudity article I read the other day has twisted my arm. I must be turning into an old(ish) perv.
