The Just Cause games are bonkers, with large open spaces to explore by foot, car, or grappled to a jet while wrestling control of the plane from its pilot. From jungle areas to snowy mountains there’s just so much room for chaos that more often than not the missions and story are left forgotten. Now a third game in the series may be coming, if a new domain listing is to be believed for JustCause3Game.com. Of course, take this with a pinch of salt considering how many of these listings have turned out to be fake in the past.
However, a Just Cause game on the new generation of consoles could be a thing of absolute beauty. The map in Just Cause 2 was 400 square miles, though quite a lot was either pretty empty of things to do, or water. However, imagine just how big of an are Avalanche could create on the PS4 and Xbox One. At the moment the main title that we know of coming from the developer is Mad Max, but Just Cause 3 could be the big reveal at E3.
We’ve contacted Avalanche Studios for comment about the possibility of the game existing.

Backlogged games: Just Cause 1 and 2, I started the first one when it was originally released and just never got around to finishing it due to other games being released at the time. On another note, Mad Max sure went quiet over recent months, I was all gung ho on getting that and then there has been no news.

Perhaps they are just busy preparing it for E3.

It has to happen. Just Cause 2 is an absolute classic, is almost universally liked and sold pretty well, i’d say it’s a forgone conclusion that they’re making another one after Mad Max.
I hope so anyway, I can’t even imagine how amazing a next gen Just Cause could be.

The grappling hook has to be one of the finest contributions to open world gaming ever and considering how pretty JC2 looked, especially while relaxing atop a jumbo jet, i would love to see what they do with the next-gen consoles.

Yes please.
That is all.
(and multiplayer too, please)

I take it from the comments Avalanche are behind Mad Max then. I never played Just Cause, but judging by everyone’s praises for it, it sounds like Mad Max could be alright then. I normally don’t go for film spin-off games but I’ll keep an eye on Mad Max now.

Hope this is true. Just cause 2 was my go to game for messing around and blowing shit up. I played over 100 hours and it was still a blast. The PS2 GTA’s were the same. PS3 era GTA’s felt limited in every way by comparison.

I hope they do. I really enjoyed JC2 and it was one of the few games I spent time getting all of the trophies, normally it’s a chore and I don’t bother.

oooh, Don’t mind if I do…..

A new game in the same vein would be great, but I’d also be happy with just a ‘HD’ re-release, with a multiplayer mode included; if you have this game on PC and haven’t checked out the MP mod, you’re missing out!
