Destiny Gameplay Trailer Released, Saves Can Be Transferred Between Generations

Destiny, from the developers of the original Halo series, Bungie is shaping up to be a great first person shooter for Activision, with its heavy focus on co-operative play. While we’ve seen gameplay before, this new trailer shows an in-depth and official look at how the game will play.

It looks quite good, but I can’t help as though it falls into the same category as a lot of other sci-fi shooters. There are some neat tricks, sure, but I’m not completely convinced. There also seems to be an overabundance of particles…

Destiny is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as PS4 and Xbox One, and Activision know that a lot of people might not have upgraded to the newer generation machines just yet, so according to investment lead Tyson Green, who spoke to Polygon, players will be able to transfer their saves if they get a new machine come Christmas.

Update: We were also sent a pair of new screenshots for the game, entitled “Hunter fighting the Hive alongside a Titan” and “Three guardians on alert outside a Hive pod in the Cosmodrome” respectively.

  1. Well this certainly seems to split people into the love it or hate it camp. I have now fallen into the later and will pre-order this for the beta access. To me it looks and feels a bit Borderlands (as said by most people above this post) but that is a great thing. I loved Borderlands.

I would like to see some kind of local co-op but I guess that is not going to happen.

  2. I think people will drop their criticisms when they actually get inside the universe and explore it. Looks more like an exploring game than a general FPS.

  3. I’m not that impressed by this. The gameplay looks slow and not that interesting. I had high hopes for this but I’ve definitely lowered my expectations. I’ll not be pre-ordering now.
