You remember a few months back when Sonic Boom was announced via the above trailer, featuring a scarf wearing Sonic and a bulked up Knuckles. We learnt that there would be two Sonic Boom titles, one for the Wii U and one for the 3DS.  SEGA has now confirmed the names of these titles with the Wii U game going by Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric, while the 3DS one will be called Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal.
You may be wondering who Lyric is and the answer is that he is a snake with robot suit , and he wants to destroy the world using his robot army.
A new character called Sticks will also be present in the game, and she will be helping Sonic due to her friend Amy getting taken by Lyric for some reason. The games will have their own styles too. Rise Of Lyric will be more of an action adventure title letting Sonic and company explore levels, get into combat, and solve puzzles. Shattered Crystal looks to be much more a classic style Sonic game focused on the platforming. Special content in the 3DS title will also unlock things in the Wii U game.
For those who will be there both games will be playable at E3.

Wii U game looks like Jak and Daxter, 3DS game is a bit metroidvania-ish with large levels. Both seem rather fun. Just a shame about those designs…

Yeah, butch Kunckles looks the wrongest! I’m not sure this will beat the unusually brilliant Generations.
