Destiny launches in just over a few weeks’ time and, just as the trailer below states, it’s likely to be the year’s biggest first person shooter “event” even with Call of Duty hot on its heels.

Though it does a good job of showing off the game’s many locations and enemies, Destiny’s latest vid seems to be lacking that all-important pre-launch pizazz. It’s a decent montage but doesn’t have that same air of epicness we have seen in past with Bungie’s Halo franchise.
Luckily the game itself is shaping up brilliantly, as we’ve already seen in two extensive beta events. Destiny launches on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 9th, worldwide.

Think more ‘Halo meets Borderlands’ & you will be somewhere close.

Of course it’s a first person shooter. Certainly not an MMORPG. That would imply it has RPG elements to it, which it hasn’t got. Well, hardly. There might be the tiniest hints of RPGness to it.
An MMOFPS might be the best way to describe it, I guess. Or possibly just “lots of fun”. Not really something you can say about whatever this years lazy COD or BF game is.

I thought the trailer was lovely. Especially as the game distances itself from the current juggernaut-sized franchises like Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.

It doesn’t need to be action packed. This game is going to make any other game coming out around Autumn, suck.

Cancelled my preorder this morning, loved the alpha and then the beta was kinda meh and just the closer it gets the less enthusiastic i’m becoming. Thought i’d wait, get peoples reviews on the full game and maybe pick it up in the new year.
