As I wrote in my preview the other day, Styx is a stealth game that’s flying below many peoples’ radar, but it might also deserve to sneak onto a few watch lists too, with some multi-layered level design and lots of options open to you as you play. As it’s announced that it’s heading for a digital only October release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, a new gameplay trailer has come out to show just how deadly and capable Styx is of dispatching guard after guard after guard.
A few things to bear in mind as you’re watching this, namely that throwing knives will only be effective against helmet-less enemies, invisibility will drain Styx’s Amber supplies very quickly and is apparently only available later in the game (and even then, Elves will still be able to smell you), oh, and this video was the culmination of 26 shoots and 5 hours of play to get it absolutely right. You can kind of tell that the player had pretty much figured out how all of the guards in the entire level will wander around by the time he nailed it.
Speaking of nailing it, we’ll have to wait and see exactly when in October the game’s set for release and, given how busy the next few months will be with major releases and this will be digital only, what Focus Interactive have planned in terms of pricing.

This looks quite interesting, although hopefully it isn’t priced too high as a digital only release.

damn, that guy’s a stealth killing machine.
makes the likes of Ezio look a bit amateurish in comparison doesn’t he? ^_^

Great music and sound design. I’m not normally onto the whole goblins, elves and wizards stuff, but this looks pretty good
