News Snatch: Alien PC Specs, Gold Consoles & Paul McCartney’s Destiny Song

Tuffcub is busy in Hawaii, and our news pool is overflowing with all of these little bits of things that we don’t have enough hands to cover fully, so you’re getting a News Snatch from our very own editor, Blair. That’s me, I don’t know why I talked in the third person there.

We usually start with a video, so here’s a trailer for Fatal Frame on Wii U. The game releases exclusively on Nintendo’s console on the 27th of September.

Sticking with Wii U releases, Watch Dogs finally has a release date for the system. It arrives on November 21st in the UK.

There’s a spooky new Alien: Isolation video, which only shows about thirty seconds of game footage but reinforces the fact that the Alien will be a terrifying force. Another thing that might be scary (check that segue) is the PC specs, if your machine isn’t all that powerful. Have a look below.

Minimum PC Specifications are:

Operating System: Windows 7 (32bit)
Processor: 3.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
Hard Drive: 35GB required for installation
Video Card: 1GB DirectX® 11 (AMD Radeon HD 5550 or Nvidia GeForce GT 430)
Broadband Internet Connection

Recommended PC Specifications are:

Operating System: Windows 7 (64bit)
Processor: AMD: Phenom II X4 955 – 4 Core, 3.2 GHz or INTEL: Core 2 Quad Q9650 – 4 Core, 3.0 Ghz

Console makeovers! Those things are cool, and we have a double dose of them right now for you. First, we’ve got unofficial gold versions of the PS4 and Xbox One, created by an Italian jeweller. They only cost $13,600 each. Nice and cheap, then.

Next up are some official 3DS XL designs, releasing next week in the US. One of them looks like a NES controller and I would like it please.

Bossa Studios, the developers of Surgeon Simulator, have developed a new maths-based game for iOS targeted at 11-14 year olds. It’s a puzzle platformer named Twelve A Dozen, and you can see the trailer below.

Dying Light will be releasing one week earlier. I mean, it was delayed to February, but now it’s releasing one week before that. In January. It has been a little bit less delayed.

Techland is really excited to announce that Dying Light, its highly-anticipated action survival game, will hit the stores in 2015 on January 27th in the Americas, January 28th in Australia and New Zealand, and January 30th in Europe and Asia.

In the spirit of Telltale, I’m going to create a little choice-driven adventure for you. The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us are both getting full retail releases on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 later this year. One of them will releasing in October, and one in November.

Now, your choice is to pick one of those dates and click on it and you’ll end up at one of Telltale’s two tweets about the games. Exciting, eh?

And finally, if you want to hear Paul McCartney’s new song (why) and don’t want to complete Destiny (why not) then press play on the video above. Still, it’s quite apt that we’re ending with credits. I bet Tuffcub’s never managed that.

  1. Paul McCartney, one reason not buy Destiny. The only reason I should think.

  2. The gold xbox looks nice, a lot better than the standard black does!

    • Looks like an old cigarette box.

    • Really? It looks nicer than the black version? I looks tacky, gaudy and still, ironically, looks like a betamax player.

      • Agreed. Looks like something Jimmy Savile owned to lure the kids in.

      • Haa… Good call! Altho only something the size of Godzilla could wear the huge monstrosity as a bit of jewellery. It would be like a giant medallion!

    • Tough crowd.

  3. I’m certainly interested in the Telltale games on the new systems.

  4. Blair’s Snatch. Not as creepy as Tuffcub’s and yet, more creepy than ever before.

    Top round-up, fella. :-)

  5. So what happens when your Gold ps/xbone breaks down, who do you send it too? Clearly not Sony cause they will send you the standard destiny edition

  6. Is it just me, or can you hear somebody heavy-breathing and typing on a keyboard throughout that Destiny video?

    That’s messed up.

  7. I wouldn’t mind that PERSONA 3DXL design, hope they come to the eu.
