LittleBigPlanet 3 Pushed Back By A Week In Europe

LittleBigPlanet faces a delay in Europe. Don’t worry though – you won’t have to wait long, with the game now releasing on the 26th of November. The American launch date will not be affected however.

The developer’s statement reads:

We’re currently working our socks off with Sackboy and friends to get the game to you as soon as possible but it’s recently come to our attention that we’re going to have to move the release of LittleBigPlanet 3 in Europe by one week to give Sackboy the best opportunity to shine.

So, what actually caused the delay? It might be due to localisation – allowing time to get all of those languages in – or perhaps to test the servers a bit more. The developers say “it seemed only right to give more people the chance to get to know Sackboy and his new friends”, so read into that however you will.

LittleBigPlanet 3 will launch on PS3 and PS4. The voice cast was recently announced, and will see Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie team up once again.

  1. Excluding LBP Karting, this will be the first LBP game I don’t buy, I’m rather bored of it now. I guess a new generation or people new to PlayStation will pick it up and continue to add to it’s community. I wonder if the new characters are a weak attempt to try and freshen-up the formula, guess we’ll have to see if they add anything.

    • Ever since the first sequel I’ve had that tired feeling whenever I see LBP news, I totally sympathise with you’re feelings of boredom. However, when I do get around to playing these games I absolutely love the experience. Maybe it’s the daunting create mode that bothers me, but I can definitely see myself picking this up for the story mode.

      • The problem with this for me is that I’m not bothered about the creative side so it’s not worth nearly £50 to me. There’s just not enough there for the money. However for the creative amongst us the nearly £50 price tag must be a steal for the amount of time they’ll get for their money.

      • The problem is, this just feels like LBP2.5.

When the next LBP comes out taking full advantage of the PS4 with fully 3D worlds, I’ll be happy.

    • Agree 100% Youles. I enjoyed the first when it was fresh, and picked up the second cheap but it felt like “more of the same”, plus I have next to no interest in the creation side of things so will probably give this a miss.

LBP Karting, on the other hand, I did enjoy, but can’t help but feel that they’re trying to create a rival franchise to Mario… And not really coming close.

  2. Can’t see the delay being a bit deal to most people. 21st Nov is already rammed with games.
Regardless of when it launches I can’t see myself buying it however. The series is great but just doesn’t appeal to me anymore.

  3. Oh dear dropped to day after birthday. It’ll still be my birthday present off the wife I guess.

  4. You are not the only one Youles.
I played the first one loved it, bought 2nd on launch felt slightly bored as it was feeling same with short new features and a copy and paste trophy. Got a free LBP on the Vita and played it with my niece whenever I pop over to visit and was great with touch screen etc… gave karting a miss until it was free on PS Plus, so played that was ok. Now I think I will stop! Had enough of playing it and LBP 2 had ridiculous lots of DLCs also never tried/played Prehistoric Move.

  5. Don’t really see the problem with LBP 3 here. 2,5? Fourplayer, different characters to play with, super voice cast?

And what are people expecting to happen in 4 that will take fully advantage of the series that PS4 won’t in this one?

On a side note: they should have pushed a week in the states too, as that week is pumped with big titles: Smash Bros, GTA, Far Cry, Dragon Age.

    • Yep November is a pretty busy month with lots to choose from,i’m, not sure about LBP 3 at the moment the chances are i’ll wait for a price drop before i play it.Dragon Age on the other hand is one that’s grabbed my attention especially after their last cock up of a game (i’m looking at you Dragon Age 2),i’m expecting a better experience something similar to the first one and from what i’ve seen it’s looking promising.

  6. I will be getting this as i’ve enjoyed all previous releases.
