The Crew Open Beta Will Run Next Week

No love for legacy consoles.

Ubisoft has announced that it’s upcoming racer, The Crew, will receive an open beta next week and that run from 25th-27th November.

Having a beta less than a week before you game releases seems rather silly but at least the servers will get a proper stress test, lets hope they hold up as they were rather flaky during the closed testing sessions.

It sounds like the code is identical to the previous beta as once again challenges will be limited to the East Coast and Midwest, two of the game’s five regions. There will be two classes of vehicles to race and – sucks to be you last genners – the beta will only be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Crew will be racing in to stores next week for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, and will be Ubisoft’s final AAA release of the holiday season.

  1. Given the instability of the closed beta, I never bothered even though I had keyes for both Xbox and Playstation.

Will use this as a demo for whether or not I’ll buy the game.

  2. I enjoyed the closed beta and while it did flake out at times by end of it, it was pretty solid.

    • I also enjoyed the closed beta a lot. I really enjoyed messing about driving around the whole map even if the handling wasn’t/isn’t that great.

Not bothered about this beta though cos i’ll be neck deep in DA 3.

      • I found the handling was OK after the cars had been upgraded a bit, especially if you tweaked the settings.

Will be good to see how the servers handle the extra load.

      • Found that camera on top of bonnet gave best handling. Rear view handling was terrible.

  3. I’m not a fan of open world racing games but i’ll be happy to have the beta prove me wrong.

  4. I didn’t enjoy the closed Beta that much but having watched that trailer – and being a huge car fan – I could probably justify buying it for the customisation alone! I spent hours on NFS Underground 1/2 modding cars. The Crew looks quite impressive in that department, with a wide range of vehicles. Will definitely give the open Beta a go, with a more open mind!
