Dark Souls II Headed To PS4 and Xbox One Along With New Content

For all you video game masochists out there, we’ve got good news out of the From Software camp this morning, as they’ve announced that Dark Souls II is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in an updated version of the game they’re calling ‘Scholar of the First Sin’.

This enhanced edition of Dark Souls II includes all three DLC releases that’ve come out since the game originally launched, along with updated graphics and a host of new story-related NPC characters, improvements to the gameplay, and even new enemies. The trailer for this new version of the game can be seen below.

For any of you that haven’t adopted the new consoles yet or game on PC, fear not, for Scholar of the First Sin is also coming to those platforms in the form of a re-release of Dark Souls II. If you already own Dark Souls II, the improvements and new characters/enemies mentioned above will be arriving via a free update From is dubbing update 1.1.0.

Scholar of the First Sin will be arriving on April 7th of next year, which is an interesting window for release due to Bloodborne – From’s other action RPG project – launching just two weeks prior. The talented folks over at From Software will certainly be busy in the Spring.

  1. Nice, this’ll go some way to missing out on Bloodborne.

  2. Wonderful! I’m actually likely to pick it up then.

  3. Releasing very close to Bloodborne I feel. Probably weren’t anticipating that games delay.

  4. Best news all month. Sweet.

  5. Bought the season pass and never even played it. Wish Id waited or could rebuy at a discount.
