Bladestorm: Nightmare Revisits The Hundred Years’ War From March 20th

Tecmo Koei has announced that Bladestorm: Nightmare will be releasing March 20th for PS4, Xbox One, and digitally on PS3. The game itself places players in battles from the Hundred Years’ War, which occurred from 1337-1453. Really it should be called the One Hundred & Sixteen Years’ War, but that’s a bit of a mouthful. Anyway, during that time the House of Plantagenet went to war against the House of Valois for the control of French Kingdom. In Bladestorm you are a mercenary who chooses which side to fight for. The events in the standard mode will remain generally historically accurate.

The addition of Nightmare Mode is what makes new Bladestorm different from the original last gen release, with this adding a lot of fantasy creatures and an alternate timeline. For this story Joan Of Arc becomes quite evil and ends up leading an army of monsters, including giants, demons, and dragons. Faced with this new threat the English and French forces have to team up to make sure the world doesn’t succumb to this threat. Tecmo also released some new screens for the game which show off character models, and the battle system. The new battle system will allow players to control up to four army units simultaneously so more strategies can be tested.

  1. Will have to keep an eye on this

  2. Looking forward to this, as I enjoyed the PS3 version – good fun, despite flaws. Hopefully it’ll retain the “so bad it’s good” dialogue and voice acting, gave Bladestorm a certain cheesy charm.

  3. Yay! Enjoyed the original, will definitely grab this at a later point. I always wondered why this and Dynasty Tactics didn’t continue on and it’s just the Warriors series that gets millions of sequels.
