Dying Light Physical Release Faces Delay, Digital Date Unaffected

Yesterday rumours were going about that Dying Light was facing a delay, and Techland has confirmed that is the case. The delay only affects the physical release of Dying Light within the Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia territories. North America will still be getting the game on January 27th. If you’re getting the digital version of the game in Europe then that will be made available from January 30th.

The full official statement is below.

There will be a short delay in the release of physical copies of Dying Light in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. The game will have a global digital release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC of January 27, 2015. As physical production has a longer lead time than digital there is some delay in the aforementioned territories. We will share information on the availability of physical copies as soon as it is confirmed.

I can’t imagine the physical delay being too long, especially since February will bring around some major competition like The Order 1886 and Evolve. Techland would rather get the delay sorted as soon as possible so I’ll say  two week tops before Dying Light appears on shelves.  Of course once we do know the new date you shall be informed.

  1. I was initially disappointed to hear this, after given it some thought I’m not that fussed. Gives me more time on Dragon Age and Crotas hard raid :)

  2. Maybe they have to put that Day 1 patch on the Disc :)

I don’t really get this as an excuse – Surely they should have known this already & put the discs into production beforehand?
