Movie tie-ins rarely work. Games often work better when they’re set in the same universe as the film, but take their own liberties, often creating a fresh playground rather than a constrained retelling of the movie. It worked for Batman, anyway.
Thankfully, the new Mad Max game will be arriving some time after the movie – later this year, while Fury Road arrives in May – and is being crafted by Just Cause developers Avalanche Studios, who are known for their open world mayhem. And they’ve just released some fresh screenshots and concept art:
Given that the developers are also planning to release Just Cause 3 in a similar timeframe, it should be interesting to see how this game shapes up, and which is more successful.
Mad Max will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4th.

I wonder if Mad Max the game will give them a Just Cause to get Beyond Thunderdome.
As for the screenshots, they look promising but it would be nice to see what the gameplay will be like.
