We’re just a couple of weeks out from Destiny’s second major expansion, House of Wolves, which Bungie will be pulling the curtain back on just a little bit more today. During a live stream that begins at 7pm in the UK (2pm EDT), we expect Bungie to talk about and show a new end-game mode called Prison of Elders, which currently sounds a lot like an arena or survival mode, where players battle increasingly difficult waves of enemies. It’s good for three players and can be played with friends or random players, and pays out high-level legendary and exotic weapons.
That’s about all we know for the moment but more details should surface during the live stream, which can be watched on Twitch. Until then, they were nice enough to leave us with this little teaser to whet our appetites.

Quite excited about tonight’s reveal, I’ve enjoyed the way they’ve gone about revealing all the different aspects of house of wolves. Despite everyone’s moaning about no new raid I really think this prison of elders could be awesome, looking forward to it.

So yeah, still not enthralled by anything that has been announced so far other than the weapon upgrades & it seems that they will likely have no purpose as I don’t really have any interest in any of the content. Seems like a bit of a catch 22 for me, as I can upgrade my weapons to a higher level, but for what purpose?
I’ll wait for a definitive “prison of elders is this” explanation before I cast a final judgement, but I really don’t like where they have taken this new DLC. It just needed a little more content than Dark Below provided as far as I was concerned, but this all seems entirely different & doesn’t actually interest me much at all.
At least it will now make me think before going all in on an expansion pass (that was far more expensive than it should have been anyway) without knowing exactly what’s going to be provided!
