I’ve always been puzzled why Bungie set the Nightfall and Heroic strikes to be the same mission each week, it would be a lot more fun to play something different each time.
Thankfully this will change when The House of Wolves DLC launches, as the two strikes will now feature different missions. However, much like when the previous expansion The Dark Below launched, when the Wolves are unleashed they will feature heavily on the Nightfall and Heroic strikes, potentially locking out those who do not own the expansion from completing one of challenges.
“We’ve heard the feedback from players about not being able to do the weekly activities, so two things we wanted to do were always have one of the activities available if you didn’t have one of the DLC’s. So you’ll never have where all of the missions are from the House of Wolves expansion,” said Bungie’s Matt Sammon. “We also wanted to have more variety for all players so we’ve actually uncoupled the Nightfall and Heroic so those will be different every week now.”

I never really thought about the fact it’s always the same strike but I guess you’re right, it never should’ve been should it? Ah well at least they’re changing it for the better.

I had a dream the other night that I picked this up really cheap and got quite into it. Is it still worth getting for someone who would be starting from scratch? I just noticed Amazon has the PS4 version for £19…

Honestly no. I went mad for it when it came out and grinded constantly till the heavy ammo drought. I stopped playing constantly and now I pop on once or twice a week but I soon get bored quickly.
I’d say wait till the GOTY version is out but it is very grindy and the raids are still broken and pvp is still a shotgun lag fest.

At this point you’ll want to wait for a version that comes with all available DLC in my opinion. Not having the DLC kind of limits what you’re able to do.
