GTAV Won’t Be Getting Any Further Heists, Consoles Will Get Video Editor

Bad news first: There will be no further additional heists added to Grand Theft Auto Online, the reason being that they were extremely complicated to make.

“For those asking for more Heists, please understand that Grand Theft Auto Online Heists were a tremendous undertaking so it’s not the sort of thing where we can easily create and publish additional Heists like other Job modes and missions,” posted Rockstar. “We are, however, working on other cool updates for GTA Online that you can expect over the coming months.”

Now the good news, the Rockstar Editor, a comprehensive video editing tool, will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this summer.

“The Rockstar Editor is an advanced tool requiring additional processing power so it would not be compatible with GTAV on the older systems, but we are currently working on a version tailored for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles – and we hope to release that sometime this summer, or as soon as it is ready.”

Rockstar also revealed that The Lab radio station will be coming to all consoles, old and new.

  1. Boo, no more heists! :(

Oh well, perhaps I’ll go for the challenge of playing every role of every setup and finale mission….98 different ones I think!

    • Actually, less than that as some missions various members take the same role.

Good news on the video tool though!

    • Loving the heists and would have been happy paying for more. Gutted! :-( Actually, I can’t help but feel this would be the way to go. Simply cater for the real fans of heists where they stump up the money for DLC.

As much as I’d like the video editor, I really don’t mind about that. It’s the heists that get me all hot under the collar.

      • Yeah it’s a shame. I hope they are working on some additional (playable) content at least, even if it’s single-player.

      • I’m great at Heists. Ish. Well more lucky than great. Actually I just turn up and sometimes I don’t die.

  2. sweet, thought the editor was pc only. this is great news i loved director mode on driver san francisco – well, with this news, i wont need to specifically upgrade my gfx for pc gta v editor mode then! ;)

  3. Can’t even find anyone reliable enough to do the current one’s. Let alone any more :)
