Sony Building A New Project Morpheus Team In The North

Bit of a slow news day today, as it will be for the next week or two as everyone goes quiet and gets ready for E3. However, a little bit of news regarding Project Morpheus has slipped out via a job advertisement posted by Sony.

An exciting and rare opportunity to join an ambitious new studio to create original games exclusively for Project Morpheus, PlayStation’s VR platform. Based in the North West of England, we aim to build a small but highly experienced team who want to build great games to showcase this exciting new immersive technology.

The listing states that the game they are working on is in the very early stages of development so it is unlikely to be a launch title for Project Morpheus when it hits the shelves next year.

For those outside the the UK and have no idea what the northern part of the England is like, it’s exactly like the north from Game of Thrones – a bit dreary, very grumpy and always blaming the south for everything.

  1. If you don’t believe TC with his GoT comparisons, maybe KLF can persuade you.

  2. I imagine this will be at Runcorn/Evolution Studios site where they also did a lot of their stereoscopic 3D stuff.

  3. Don’t forget cold and wet.

    • Just goes to show you southerners have no idea what the north is like, always sunny and temperatures in the mid twenties all year round!

      • Are you calling me a southerner? If I moved any further north I’d be in Scotland!

      • Same here.
I just thought from your comment you were a southerner, apologies. I guess your comment is to put off those from down south coming up to the ‘proper’ north so we can keep our year round sunshine to ourselves :)

  4. to be fair must say the GOT comparison is pretty true. Living in King’s Landing must say it’s not the friendliest and it’s pretty hard to find a nice person from here. My biggest shock was my recent trip north of the wall to find Mance Rayder’s people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. who’da thought!

  5. I always think that Hal Cruttenden described the north/south divide in the UK best.
“We should build a wall to keep the north out. Well, they can build it, we’ll pay for it.”

    • Been done before, 1893 years ago.

      • But they’re getting through.

      • Yep, not even the Roman’s wanted Sturgeon through. ;)
