Gaijin Entertainment, the team behind popular free-to-play title War Thunder, has announced its newest project – an online vehicular combat game called Crossout.
Currently in pre-alpha, the PC title is being developed in partnership with Targem Games. Although not all deserts and barren wastelands, there’s definitely a Mad Max vibe going on, mainly thanks to Crossout’s patchwork vehicle designs.
Players will be free to construct their very own death wagons, complete with armour plating and a visceral gallery of mounted weapons.
Thanks to its intuitive damage system, players will often witness huge chunks of their rides being blown off, including wheels and weapons. Therefore, victory in battle ultimately hinges on skill and a sound knowledge of vehicle design.
Beta testing is due to start this summer. Gaijin has yet to say whether Crossout will make the leap from PC to consoles.

Sounds like Robot Wars meets Twisted Metal. Could be really cool, but it may suffer should it be F2P.
