EA Sports has revealed that NHL 16 will include a number of features that were missing in last year’s version of the game, but were present in NHL 14. Hockey Ultimate Team is now available in single player offline seasons, EA Sports Hockey League is back but with a new class system and you will now be able to play 6 vs 6 online matches.
However, the weirdest feature they have announced is the inclusion of ‘play-off beards’, a tradition in which hockey teams do not shave until they have either lost their place in the Stanley Cup or won the coveted trophy.
“One of the oldest and most iconic traditions in hockey has arrived,” say EA. “With accurate representations of beard patterns, length, thickness, and growth rates for individual players, the road to the Stanley Cup just got hairier.”
