UK Charts 23/05/15: The Witcher 3 Becomes The Year’s Biggest Release Yet

It’s no surprise that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is sitting at the top of the charts after its highly anticipated launch, but it has become the UK’s biggest new release by quite some margin, absolutely smashing Battlefield Hardline’s previous high water mark by 53% and selling more than six times as many copies as The Witcher 2 at its debut.

The incredibly popular Farming Simulator series also had a new entry in the charts, as Farming Simulator 15 ploughed through the competition with its console launch to reach second spot, leaving GTA V down in third with FIFA 15 and Project CARS filling out the top five.

  1. I regret my purchase, was not worth the £20 + vouchers I had. Witcher that is

    • Same here. Traded the Witcher it in for Bloodborne, which it turns out I should have bought sooner. Great game so far.
I’ll get some co-op in at some point. Just wanna beat the Blood Thirsty Beast first, but it keeps poisoning me!

      • Fire is your best friend & some oil to kill it

      • Aha, fool it into thinking I’m its friend by giving it an oily massage, then when it least expects its, ignite the beast!
I did have an oil urn thing, but I think I used it. I could buy another one, throw the oil at him, then use that fire paper on my blade and strike him. The fire paper is a new favourite.

      • Did you really die 10 times in the opening bit where you chase the girl? If so I can see why you traded it!

      • Not far off! lol
The more impatient I got & the more I rushed, the more out of control the already out of control klutz was.

    • interesting. why didn’t you like it ? i need reasons damn it. thankfully i don’t fall for AAA hype anymore especially after wasting full price on Watchdogs i haven’t wasted any money including The Order and The Witcher.

      • If you look up the SixthAxis Witcher review, you’ll see my reasoning… Saying that though, one of my work colleagues is loving it.

      • The order is brilliant, recommend it.. As for the witcher, the combat alone put me off so badly, so many things happening, I understand it’s a RPG but this is just too much RPG too much side quest & the whole levelling up sucks big time.

I am just too involved with bloodborne

      • I’d also recommend The Order.

  2. Brilliant game. Well deserved #1.

Can’t believe Farming Simulator at 2. Expect EA to release EA Farming next year.

    • EA Farming? Sounds like game-publisher simulator where the objective is to incorporate as many micro-transactions as possible into a game.
