Woohoo! Bethesda Counts Down To A Fallout Announcement Tomorrow

After a billion and one fake sites and false rumours we have, at last, the first signs that something big and Fallout shaped will be announced soon, and by soon we mean “tomorrow”.

For those not in the know, that image is taken from the Fallout series. There is also a countdown site which has less than twenty-four hours to go, and will expire at 3pm BST tomorrow.

Of course the game might not be called Fallout 4, and if current trends are anything to go by it may be a series reboot. But hey, Fallout! At last! Woohoo!

UPDATE: The source code for the site contains the following text.

PA system failure has occured.
Shutdown of the Masterbrain has been authorized and all sensitive materials have been removed for security purposes.
Please attempt re-access. Have a pleasant day.

Masterbrain appears in Fallout 3 and controls the security systems in the Vault-Tec headquarters.

  1. Woot! Probably ought to point out too that if you click the image it takes you to http://fallout.bethsoft.com/ which has a 24 hour countdown on it!

    • For those that are interested there are 3 buttons that are currently hidden on the page on the right hand side – prev, next and close. The page also references a JS file “57601643.institute.js” which has been minified so not super easy to read, but from what I can gather from a quick look there will be an age gate which leads to an announcement.

      Oh man, I am SUPER hyped now!

  4. Didn’t Fallout 4 already happen? New Vegas? So the next one should be Fallout 5?

    • Erm no that was Fallout: New Vegas. It was an extension of Fallout 3 really.

  5. Hopefully it runs smoothly on ps4, man fallout 3 was so glitched it got annoying but remains in my top 10 best games I have ever played

  6. Exciting times. Witcher 3 has really raised the bar though on open world RPGs, so there will be high expectations. Really enjoyed Fallout 3, so I’m looking forward to this.

  7. I’d rather have the next Elder Scrolls game.

    • I found Skyrim to be a big disappointment, not an interesting world to explore and really lacking in any real personality. I hope they’ve learnt lessons from that.

      • Its in my top games of all time, though I get that a few found it too boring. I liked Fallout 3 but prefer the exploration of the elder scrolls.

      • Not as disappointing as the witcher though, such big world but so boring

      • Fair enough, I put a lot more time into Oblivion and that had some cool missions that I enjoyed, so I can definitely see the appeal. As for calling The Witcher 3 boring, that’s just crazy talk!

      • I guess even the most critically acclaimed games will find some people who don’t like them. I’m the same with GTA. The only one’s I enjoyed were the first two.

    • Well that’s out in a couple of weeks.

      • I mean the next proper Elder Scrolls game, not that always online guff.

  9. Can’t wait. Fallout 3 is one of the best games ever made and the best regards from the west. So happy.

  10. Cautiously happy, but I’ll wait till it’s confirmed not to be a pay to win iPad MOBA.
