Star Wars: Battlefront Maps Will Change Depending On Who Is Winning

DICE have revealed that they will be using the environment to inform players as to who is winning and who needs to fight harder.

DICE general manager, Patrick Bach, revealed the concept of “Battle Beyond” in an interview with IGN. This concept is what changes the events and environment depending on which side is winning. For example, if the rebels are winning the battle then you would see a Star Destroyer come crashing to the ground.

“It’s what you usually do in a UI, you make it bluntly obvious. It’s slowly hinting at who’s winning, and I think it’s a brilliant concept to give you the information and emotion you need to understand or change your plan.” explained Bach. “You don’t need a gauge blinking. It’s part of the world.”.

  1. Sounds pretty cool!

  2. And what happens when the Empire are winning, does Jar Jar Binks bounce run across the screen shouting me thinks we betta get outa here?

  3. I’m so stoked for this game. I do enjoy dice’s work. Always so detailed.

  4. I’m going to be that guy and say this game will not match up to those demo videos at E3.

Everything seemed to perfect and staged, can’t see it being anything like that in the final game.

    • None of the games shown at E3 will actually look and play like that on release. I watched the Xbox one presentation and every single title was running at 60 fps and was silky smooth. Now way the likes of the new Tomb Raider game and Fallout 4 are going to run at 60 FPS on any console.

The trailers you see at E3 stage conferences are just not running on the console hardware, you know theres a High end PC out of sight.

      • True, very true. Maybe I mean it’s going to be the least like the trailer? The biggest difference. I can see it being similar to the fallout with Watch_Dogs. It feels like they’ve set the bar far too high with what they showed.

  5. I have my money waiting here ready for EA to take it. PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY!

  6. What happened to the traditional Ticket Counter?

    • This is Battlefront, not Battlefield! :P

      • I’m just worried these scripted moments will get boring / annoying over time.

      • You do have a point, I could see it wearing thin after the 50th time watching it.
