Batman: Arkham Knight is out now and whilst the console versions seems to be doing well the PC version of the game seems to have a touch of the Assassin’s Creeds to it. In other words, it’s a bit of a mess. There are multiple reports on Reddit of bugs and frame rate drops.
I have a 780ti, did the benchmark and it said average was 59 so i figured great, game will run sweet since its capped to 30, get into game and nope, keeps stuttering and dropping really low, especially in the batmobile. This is really bad.
The Steam page for the game has 749 negative reviews compared to 450 positive ones, mostly from people who have NVidia cards.

Rocksteady changed the minimum PC requirements moments before the game was released, the amendment being that if you have an AMD GPU, you will need a Radeon HD 7950 or better with at least 3GB of memory.
The developers have responded to some of the problems with following statement.
There are some known issues with the performance of Batman: Arkham Knight for PC owners using AMD graphics cards. We are working closely with AMD to rectify these issues as quickly as possible.
At least some gamers are approaching the problems with a sense of humour.
Batman Arkham Knight might be a fantastic game. I wouldn’t know anything about that however, as it appears I have inadvertently been sold Batman Arkham Slideshow.
UPDATE: Oh dear..

UPDATE #2: Rocksteady have just posted this message in their forums.
Hi all
We’re aware that some users are reporting performance issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. This is something that Rocksteady takes very seriously. We are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible.
We’ll update this thread when we’ve got more info to share.
Thanks

Glad I have a Radeon then!
Not tried the game yet as I was playing ESO. Will try in a bit and report back :)

Just booted the game up, seems to run fine, no crashes.
Watched the intro and glided around a bit.
Will try it more later today.

This sucks for PC gamers as this should be a showcase of how good games can be on it rather than how bad.

Can confirm, it runs pretty poorly at the moment on PC. By no means do I have a beefy PC (i5-4590T, 8GB DDR3, 750Ti 2GB) but I was expecting to be able to run the game at 1080p and a decent frame rate. Poor optimisation by the sounds of things.
Something people have spotted is that, while day one updates have been pushed out for PS4 and X1, there hasn’t been anything on PC yet. Wishful thinking but perhaps it simply hasn’t been rolled out yet and might make an appearance soon?

It transpires that Rocksteady outsourced the PC version to Iron Galaxy so don’t hold your breath on that update arriving anytime soon. If you are unaware or were living in a cave for a couple of years, Iron Galaxy are the name behind the PC port of Arkham Origins and Borderlands Handsome Collection. Both games were/are littered with frame rate issues at launch amongst many other problems. Yay!

Drop the textures to Low and it seems to run slightly less stuttery (feel free to substitute another word starting with s and ending in y). I would like to highlight though that there is only low and normal in the texture options. It’s woeful though, really, really woeful. WB are absolutely taking the steaming baton of poop from Ubisoft and not so much running with it but redefining it.
