Fallout 4 Doesn’t End When Campaign Does, No Level Cap Either

Bethesda has announced that Fallout 4 won’t end once you complete the main campaign, so you’ll be able to continue to explore and do sidequests. In previous Fallout games once the story reaches a conclusion the game is finished with the option to continue absent. The news came from Bethesda’s Twitter account in response to questions by a number of fans.

That’s right there’s also no level cap in Fallout 4 either, which could mean you’ll turn into an almost immortal being that takes out Deathclaws with one hit. Unless the enemies scale too which would mean you never quite lose that sense of danger.

  1. Would be silly for it to end with the story, I would have expected that anyhow. Especially since they made it so you can carry on the game in Fallout 3, via DLC, no idea about New Vegas though, it only kept me entertained for about 3 and a half minutes.

    • New Vegas was great! The glitches ruined it though… My trophy count sits at roughly 90% as the final DLC was literally unplayable because the frame rate kept dropping to a stutter within 5 minutes. Appalling, and Bethesda and Sony didn’t want to know.

  2. Please don’t make the enemies scale. That’s what ruined oblivion for me.

After collecting the best weapons/armour in the game, and getting plenty of experience killing hordes of power armour wearing phychos. I shouldn’t have to be afraid of a radroach :/

    • Ah dynamic difficulty, I hate that in games. There is little point in getting better equipment when the difficulty gets artificially higher.

And Aran, not sure anout other Fallout games but you could continue after the last main mission in Fallout 3.

      • When 3 first came out, you couldn’t continue a character after game completion. But people lost their shit, so they patched it.

      • Ah, I didn’t buy it day 1, that explains it.

That will likely change for Fallout 4!

    • :D. I know the feeling brother.
