Next year couldn’t come soon enough for Warhammer Fantasy fans – for the first time, in a long time, they’ll finally get to play a video game adaptation worthy of the iconic name. It looks as though we’re in safe hands too given The Creative Assembly masterful work on the genre-defining Total War franchise.
Although Total War: Warhammer won’t feature every faction from the tabletop game, it’s always nice to spot the occasional Dwarf amongst the ranks of Empire, Orcs, and Chaos.
In its latest video, the developer shows off three of the most powerful units available to Dwarf players. These include the Hammerers (trusted bodyguards of the great Dwarfen Lords) as well as mumbling veteran Longbeards. Of course no Dwarf army would be complete with Ironbreakers, barrelling into every skirmish glad in Gromril Armour.
Although I haven’t touched Warhammer Fantasy in years, it’s also good to see that CA are using Games Workshop’s newer designs on these units. Hopefully, we’ll soon get a look at some Dwarf Slayers, and maybe even a Gyrocopter or two!
