It’s been a long wait for fans of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but Square Enix have announced a release date of 23rd February 2016 for the sequel, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Alongside this, they’ve also unveiled a handful of special editions to try and entice you to pre-order the game. It’s nothing particularly special, but the collector’s edition will include a special steelbook game case, a 9″ Adam Jensen figurine and an art book, as well as all of the in-game content that’s part of an “augment your pre-order” scheme.
That scheme is something for those pre-ordering digitally, which lets you pick an item from each tier that is unlocked, depending on how many people pre-order the game. Initially, it’s a trio of item packs for Jensen, but as people pre-order, chances are they’ll unlock an OST sampler, an extra in-game mission, a trio of digital books and finally, if the 100% goal is reached, the ability to play the game four days early.
If I’m being charitable, I’d say it’s an interesting pre-order incentive. Pre-order incentives don’t really make me feel particularly charitable, though.

That pre order scheme is terrible. I could understand if they were either physical items or the digital content was only going to be made if they reached the particular goals. But it’s a no to both those secenarios.

If you include all of that for a reasonable price, you may see preorders happen a lot for DX:MKD.
Whilst Human Revolution was met with a good reception, do they really feel that this is the way to hype up MKD?
Also, did he ask for this?
