Near the end of last year Trendy Entertainment announced that Dungeon Defenders II would be coming to PS4, and now it has been confirmed that the date for launch is September 29th. However, this is actually a pre-alpha launch and not the final product due to the game still being under development. While Dungeon Defenders II will be free to play after its full launch you’ll have to pay to access the pre-alpha.
Anyone who is interested will have to buy a currency bundle off PSN to gain access to the PS4 version, which will have controller support and two player local co-op before the PC version. There will be updates on the PC edition of Dungeon Defenders II that will arrive on the PS4 a little while after. If you want to wait for the free to play edition then you can do so and support the game by buying ‘ethical’ micro-transactions, though what those will be is unknown.
As far as we’re aware this is the first real early access like title releasing on PS4.

Dungeon Defenders was a fun game but this being free to play, brings me to be cautious about buying the game. I wouldn’t mind buying it as a typical release, and I’m sure others would. Video games today baffle me.

Finally.. ive been waiting for this to arrive on ps4 for ages.. ive already put in around 800hrs on pc version of alpha just because its not on ps4. Dont be afraid of the free to play of the game its only for costumes and skins for characters you cant buy upgrades to weapons or stats with real cash so im happy.. bring on the 29th.

Played it on PC (with a few TSA friends) but it was a shell of a game so we came away from it. Is most of the game there now? Think we caught it too early.

Well now its ok i guess however they took away defence attack speed away :( .. so ps4 is alot behind pc alot of changes on pc.. level cap to 50 more levels.. nightmare modes..i think i will wait awhile as i know what changes are comming.eg i had my cannons going at .47 sec and now i know that speed stat will be removed.. so wats the point.. but lets see maybe its different for ps4?.
