PlayStation 4 Price Cut, Now €349.99 / £299.99 Or Lower

This is one of those news items where everything you need to know is in the headline, the 500GB PlayStation 4 has had fifty quid wiped off the price just in time for Black Friday and the big Christmas rush.

New RRP in the following markets (new price is not limited to these countries): Benelux, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain €349.99. Australia $479.95. New Zealand $569.95. UK £299.99. Austria and Germany €349.95. United Arab Emirates AED1399.

A quick look on Amazon.co.uk reveals you can bag a PS4 for a penny under £280, and Zavvi have console for the same price. The cheapest price I can find is £270.20, including delivery, from Alza.co.uk, but to be honest I’ve never heard of that website until today.

Remember, it’s much cheaper to buy a 500gb PS4 and then shove in your own larger hard drive than buy the 1TB model.

Will Microsoft follow suit with a price cut, or will they stand firm and push their stronger line up of winter exclusives? Let battle commence.

  1. You can get the glacier white PS4 500GB for £259.99 at Simplygames. Not sure how reliable they are though.

I recon we’ll see PS4’s selling for close to £200 before Christmas.

    • I’ve bought from them before and not had any issues, unlike some others selling non UK items which they claim is legal – even when they explicitly state “not for sale in the UK” on the box.

I’m determined to hold off on buying an Xbox One in the hope that they will try to compete and hopefully as you say can be picked up for ~£200 around xmas.

    • I was going to mention the Simply Games offer too, very good price.

I’m not sure about a £200 price tag though except for Black Friday’s offers. Maybe in terms of bundled content £200 could be achieved i.e. sell off extras and get the console for 200. I sort of did that with XB1. Got it for 260 then sold Fifa 16 and got it to 232. I know a friend who had that option with an amazon bundle months ago. With all bundled content sold, the PS4 came to 170.

      • Oh I dunno, every now and again one of the Amazons (de,fr or es) has an offer which after currency conversion (and card fees) is getting pretty close to £200 (best I’ve seen so far is about £220) and since Xbox isn’t doing that well in Europe generally then you could see it being it hit fairly soon.

Of course that assumes you don’t mind having a Euro console but the warranty is the same, just need a different power lead (or an adapter).

      • I generally don’t like EU hardware as it’s unsaleable to GAME/CEX and other traders, but certainly overseas purchases are one option if you don’t mind that.

      • Xbox one isn’t do too well anywhere. NPD PS4 ontop again. Last gen, Microsoft arrogance was spewing NOD numbers at us on a weekly basis.

  2. Shopto.net are selling the 1TB PS4 with Arkham Knight or Fifa 16 for £299.99.

    • £299.86 actually. Every penny counts!

  3. Alza is a huge brand in the czech republic, they’re basically Argos over here.
    It’s trust-worthy!
