Tom Clancy’s The Division Is Still Arriving This March

It looks like we’re going to have another packed March with Hitman and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End already scheduled to be released, and Tom Clancy’s The Division is still joining the party on March 8th. Unless it gets delayed. Again.

A beta is scheduled for Xbox One in December, with PC and PlayStation 4 following on in early 2016. You can sign up for that by clicking this link, but the only way to guarantee access to the beta is to pre-order the game, an action that will also get you the Hazmat Gear Set DLC pack.

The internet is already annoyed with game as recent previews have failed to match the incredible visuals of the announcement trailer. “The graphics were attractive, but far from stunning, though everything moved along very smoothly,” noted Dom in his preview last month.

To be honest I have little interest in the game now, after the E3 reveal I would have killed for it. However, with two years of hype, the inevitable graphical downgrade (when will Ubisoft learn?!?), and Uncharted 4 out two weeks later I’ll probably be giving the game a miss. What about you?

By the way we knew about the release date back in June when it was revealed at E3 I’m not entirely sure why loads of sites are reporting it again. Not that I wrote all of this before spotting that, no sirree, this is just a friendly reminder.

Keeping up with Joneses and all that.

Ahem.

  1. I have it pre-ordered for beta access but yeah, definitely not as hyped as I was either; and probably not a day-one purchase given Ubisofts record with server stability at launch… which means in all likelihood a post Uncharted 4 purchase, if at all.

I also have little faith that the new Ghost Recon will look or play anything like the reveal trailer… when we eventually get it in a couple of years time.

Whereas Fallout 4… announced, launch within 6 months, hardly any footage so going in without having any big moments or plot details spoilt = the way it should be done and mega hyped! Although to be fair it’s Fallout so I’d have been hyped anyway, the short wait for it is just the icing on the cake. Either way many publishers could learn a thing or two from this!

  2. …and on to our second round called the odd-one-out-round where you have to spot the Usibsoft game which hasn’t been graphically downgraded since preview trailers –
    Assassin’s Creed Unity,
    Watch Dogs,
    The Crew,
    or The Division.

I’m struggling to recall a single title from Ubisoft which hasn’t been downgraded.

  3. I’ll be waiting on this. I was one of those who were really excited for this game all those months ago but that’s wained now.
It also has all the hallmarks of a release day mess that will carry on for weeks. It won’t have certain launch features that were promised or it’ll be unplayable. Something like that anyway.
I’ll eat my words if it launches smoothly, then I’ll buy the game :-)
