Valkyria Chronicles Remaster And Valkyria: Azure Revolution Coming To PS4

This week’s Famitsu in Japan has lifted the lid on Valkyria Chronicles Remaster and Valkyria: Azure Revolution for PS4. Valkyria Chronicles originally released as a PS3 exclusive in 2008, with a PC release occurring in November last year. The remaster is scheduled to release on February 10th in Japan, with a Western release date as of now unconfirmed.  Valkyria Chronicles Remaster will also have a demo included for Azure Revolution, with the developers hoping for fan feedback on the direction of the sequel.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution’s plot centres around the rapid expansion of the Rus Empire after the discovery of the  azure mineral Ragnite. This expansion negatively impacts Jutland, which leads the country to striking at the empire. The three characters that have been revealed so far are the protagonist Amleth, who commands Jutland’s anti-Valkyria unit, Princess Ophelia of Jutland, and an anatagonist by the name of  Brynhildr.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution is expected to get a release late next year in Japan.

  1. Amazing news! Although right now I might as well just go play it on my PS3…

  2. Massive trouser accident just happened.

  3. I should probably finish it on my PS3. But I’m really glad the franchise isn’t dead, although I am worried by the rumours that the new one isn’t a strategy game.

  4. Jutland?!? Brynhildr?!?! Amleth?!? Ophelia?!? Well hello Shakesperian Denmark!

  5. Based on a highly scientific study, I declare Tuesday to be “news about things that won’t make it out of Japan day”.

Also known as “Japanese companies trolling the rest of the world with things we can’t have day”.

  6. Love this game. They would be crazy not to release this outside of Japan, all the voice work and translation is already done for the remaster!
