You may have seen the Arcade Archives titles popping up on the PSN store recently, in fact there was one this week, the rather rubbish Super Dodge Ball. They have also released A-Jax (nope), Mr. GEOMON (no idea), City Connection (never heard of it), and Exerion (nada).
Eventually they would have to get round to some decent games and one of those is one of the best damn arcade games ever, Bubble Bobble! Huzzah! They’re also releasing Gradius II, Flak Attack, Double Dragon II, Darius and a load more titles. But mostly Bubble Bobble, which is awesome.
The titles have only been confirmed for Japan but hopefully will make it to the west. Well, I say hopefully, they will make it to the west, even if I have to kidnap someone’s puppy and hold it to ransom.
Yay! Bubble Bobble! If you have never played it, this song (which is set to earworm that is the Bubble Bobble theme) will explain why it’s so good.

Really hope we (EU) get Bubble Bobble. And really hope that it’s online multiplayer. Me and my younger bruv used to play the shit out of that game on the (ahem) Commodore64. But now we live in seperate asylums. Erm, I mean houses.

Nah it’s just a port of the arcade code, so exactly the same as that, no extras like online multiplayer.

If they can do Rainbow Islands too I’d be all over this like a mo-fo. Loved that game too. Wasn’t the baddie in bubble bobble called Baron von Blubba or something like that. Now THAT’S gaming!
