News Snatch: Hitman GO, DiRT Rally, Not Battleborn, And Odin Sphere

If I were Anneka Rice, and Kenneth Kendall was still around then today’s Challenge Anneka would be ‘Write a News Snatch full of vim and joy despite being extremely tired after your victory at The Vice Gaming Pub Quiz last night.’ Thankfully I’m not Anneka and Kenneth has been pushing up daisies for a while, so you’re just going to have to put up with a subdued and rather grumpy Snatch today.

Right then, games stuff, look, there’s a nice video about skills and combat in Odin Sphere. Whatever that is.

If you were wondering why your copy of Hitman GO: Definitive Edition is not cross-buy for PS4 and PS Vita then wonder no more. It will be, just not yet, because reasons.

Hitman GO will be cross-buy from the 2nd of March. Since you already purchased, you will receive the cross-buy entitlement from the 2nd.

Couldn’t organise some alcoholic beverages in a alcoholic beverage making place, could they?

DiRT Rally devs talk about why their new game is much closer to their old ones, which sold bucketloads, compared to their newer ones, which didn’t.

State of Play, the team who made the award winning Lumino City have announced Inks, a mobile title that combines pinball with painting. Check out the screenshot. Well, I think it’s a screenshot, it may just be some leaking felt tip pens.

God Eater Resurrection is munching over to the west this year and Bandai Namco have teamed up with a famous animation studio to create an eleven minute anime introduction to the game.

Three more Battleborn characters have been revealed, taking the total number of playable characters to a billionty-fourteen However, 2K have made a video for each character and has slowly been drip feeding them out, one after another, after another, after another, which is totally unnecessary, I’m not posting a Battleborn video every ten minutes, sort your marketing out 2K.

Styx: Shards of Darkness, has a bigger budget, bigger ideas, and a new engine, checkout of these very atmospheric Unreal 4 screenshots of Styx look round a corner.

Procedurally generate rogue-like top-down shooter thing, Ares Omega, launches on PC on March 17th priced at £10.99. It looks a bit like Alien Breed, so hurrah for that. Also it’s very easy to make a type and call the game Arse Omega, which has amused me for at least two seconds.

Look, I may be slightly hung over and tired but for **** sake games journos try and remember that your readers are intelligent. Time and time again you post utter, utter twaddle, which anyone with a half a bloody brain could work out as it is is common sense. Let’s take a look at the latest ‘news’ which is grabbing headlines across the globe, which is extracted from a report from Superdata.

“Initial sales numbers on digital console for Rise of the Tomb Raider were soft, due to sharing its release date with Fallout 4 and its exclusivity to Xbox One. The game sold almost three times as many units on PC than it did on console during its first month.”

Wow! That’s a headline isn’t it!?! Tomb Raider sales on PC utterly thrashed those of Xbox One. But wait, let’s read that again.. hmm… SuperData only collect sales information for digital downloads and do not include physical products.

So Tomb Raider digital sales on PC – that’s PC, where pretty much everyone has Steam and no one buys boxed products – has outsold digital sales on Xbox One – where the vast majority of people buy boxed games, which are not included in this data.

OF. COURSE. IT. SMEGGING. HAS.

If I ever, ever, post something so fracking pointless as this ‘news’ you have my permission destroy my treasured collection of Masterpiece Transformers.

Breaking News For The Terminally Stupid: Fallout 4 sold more copies digitally on PC than it did digitally on Xbox One.

And now, cute baby animals. And breathe. Bye.

  1. A grumpy snatch is better than no snatch, so “thank you for your grumpy snatch”.

I like how the sales for Rise Of The Tomb Raider are described as “soft”. I think they meant to type “rubbish”, “poor” or “small”. ;-)

  2. Codies going back to their roots with Dirt Rally is music to my ears, and the game I’ve wanted them to do since they dropped ‘Colin McRae’ from the rally series.

  3. I’m looking forward to playing a pure rally game by the ‘masters again.

  4. Loving how the word ‘typo’ has a typo!
