Yooka-Laylee Gets A New Trailer, But It’s Delayed To Early 2017

We’ve got a preview in just a few moments, but it arrives with a tinge of sadness for those who backed Yooka-Laylee on Kickstarter. The bright and colourful platformer from Playtonic, a team made up of a number of former Rare developers, has been delayed from a release around October until Q1 2017, so that the team can work on polishing the game even further.

Speaking to Andy Robinson, writer at Playtonic, he said that “the reason for this is very simply that the team wants an extra few months to polish. Our fans have been super supporting and a love of them have been waiting for a game like this for a long time, so we want to make sure that we’re known for completely polished game. We’re confident that we could hit October, but the game will be better in Q1.”

See, I think the game’s looking bloody lovely already

  1. Never heard of it before…

Looks great though, can tell the team behind it are originally from RARE. Looks very much so like a modern banjo-kazooie

  2. Rango and Stitch together at last.

  3. I’m pleasantly surprised to see how well it’s turning out.
